About the Creator/Director
Cynthia Monique is an Entertainment Consultant, Actor, Choreographer, Director, Producer, and Dancer from Washington D.C. She earned her B.F.A from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Some of her credits include, The Milton Myers Dance ensemble formerly of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, the Lula Washington Dance Co, the musical "Sing Sista Sing" produced by Smokey Robinson and Mickey Stevenson, "Woman Thou Art Loosed" stage play directed by TYLER PERRY (of "Alex Cross" & "Why Did I Get Married" fame), and produced by T.D. Jakes.
In addition, she is an Award Winning Actress. She won a Dramalouge Award for Outstanding Theater Performance for the stage play "I Stand Before You..." written by Joyce Carol Oates that she did with the West Coast Theater Ensemble. Television credits include; America's Most Wanted, Hollywood Safari (Animal Planet Channel), and The Soul Train Music Awards. She also choreographed a TV commercial for the clothing store "Urban Rags" that ran on local TV stations in Los Angeles. Film credits include; "The Righteous One" (AFI, American film Institute), and "The Preacher and the Skinhead" available on Amazon for streaming or purchase. Recently she Directed, wrote and produced an original stage play "Great Americans Overcoming Disabilites", highlighting the lives and achievements of Stevie Wonder, Temple Grandin, Helen Keller and President Roosevelt.
Also, she served as an assisting casting director for the New York original stage play "Carls Second Chance". As an Entertainment Consultant she has successfully helped her clients get signed to top talent agencies in Los Angeles, New York and other states nationwide to launch their careers. She is the Director/Creator of BE A PERFORMER and developed the program to help other performing artist to achieve their dreams.
